Friendly Star appeals for a new owner

A gentle giant is appealing for a new place to call home.

Animal welfare experts are appealing to find a new home for Star, an eight-year-old Rottweiler who is currently living at Dogs Trust’s West Calder Rehoming Centre.

Her carers say she is a sweet and gentle girl who enjoys being in the company of her loved ones.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: “Star adores attention from her family and can find it difficult spending time on her own and would like owners who are around most of the day to help keep her company.

“She can live with children who are over the age of 10 years old and would prefer to be the only pet in the home.

“Star is an older girl and does have arthritis, she would prefer someone who can take her for shorter walks where she can investigate and meet new friends along the way.

“She loves spending time off her lead in the garden, pottering around or finding a sun spot where she can relax. Star will always greet you with a happy face and a beautiful smile.

“You will always find Star by your side and her favourite part of the day is when she gets to cuddle up beside you and cosy in.”

If you think you could provide a home for Star or any of the 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, please contact the centre on 01506 873459. You can also follow Dogs Trust West Calder on twitter @DT_WestCalder for regular updates on events and dogs available for rehoming.
