Friend of suspect behind killing of Azzam Raguragui allegedly gloated about murder online

The friend of a suspect behind the killing of Azzam Raguragui is said to have allegedly gloated about the murder online.

Tragic Azzam Raguragui was fatally stabbed in Finsbury Park in Dundrum, Dublin last Friday evening.

Azzam was believed to be on his way back from prayers in a local mosque with a group of friends when an argument broke out with another gang of youths.

It is understood that the two groups were having a fist fight before a knife was produced and Azzam was stabbed.

The 18-year-old was rushed to St James's Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Gardai have now launched a murder investigation and are seeking public help in finding Azzam's killer.

The Irish Daily Star claims that a friend of Azzam's killer posted on social media gloating about the callous killing.

A youth allegedly posted: "My guys stabbed him to bits. He was praying and all to not get killed."

This comes as funeral details for Azzam have been released online.

Funeral prayer will take place on Friday 17th of May and people can sympathise with the family from 11am in the seminar room of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland.

In a post on the ICCI Facebook page they said: "Azzam's family are welcoming anyone who wishes to give their condolences to them.

"They will then be invited into the main prayer hall at 1pm, the funeral prayer itself will take place after the Friday sermon and prayer at 2pm.

They added: "For guests not of the Muslim faith coming to pay their respects, there is no specific colour of clothing for a funeral in Islam.

"We just ask that clothing be of a modest nature. Women are not required to wear a head scarf, but can do so if they wish.

"We advise people to come early, and to avoid arriving during the time of the sermon.

"Please continue to pray for Azzam's family and friends at this time. May Allah grant them patience and ease during this time of extreme grief."
