Friday's recap: Blackhawks 4, Ducks 1

Nov. 29--The summary

Patrick Kane scored two goals while Brad Richards and Andrew Shaw each had a goal and an assist to lift the Hawks to a 4-1 victory over the Ducks on Friday at the Honda Center. The Hawks improved to 4-1-0 on their six-game circus trip with Corey Crawford in goal.

Scary moment

Late in the game, Marian Hossa was shaken up after an open-ice collision with the Ducks' Corey Perry. The winger was down for several moments before heading to the bench. Afterward, Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said: "I think he's going to be OK."

Scary moment II

Ducks forward Kyle Pamieri was assessed a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct when he drilled Hawks defenseman Johnny Oduya face-first into the boards in the third period. Oduya finished the game.

Hjammered

Late in the first period, Niklas Hjalmarsson leveled Ducks center Ryan Kesler with a devastating open-ice hit during which the defenseman lowered his shoulder into Kesler's chest. Kesler missed the last three minutes of the period but returned in the second.

Tribune's three stars

1. Kris Versteeg: Two assists -- including a brilliant pass to set up a Kane goal -- and was a plus-3.

2. Richards: Spearheaded line that produced a combined six points and also finished a plus-2.

3. Kane: Notched seventh multipoint outing.

The quote

"We played the way we wanted to for 60 minutes. This was our most complete game." -- Versteeg

Injury report

Patrick Sharp missed his 10th consecutive game with a right knee injury. It originally was believed the veteran winger would return against the Blues on Wednesday night at the United Center but that is not guaranteed as coach Joel Quenneville said, "We'll see when we get back (from the trip). I'm not sure if he'll be ready."

Roster report

Healthy scratches for the Hawks were winger Jeremy Morin and defenseman Adam Clendening. Sitting for the Ducks were defensemen Clayton Stoner (mumps) and Francois Beauchemin (hand) and winger Tim Jackman (healthy).

Big number

11: Hawks victories in the 14 games they have scored first.
