Kids left 'freezing' outside school after coats confiscated because they don't have official badge on theme

Furious parents have blasted school staff who confiscated their kids' warm coats because they were not branded with the school badge.

Pupils are only permitted to wear the expensive branded school jacket on school grounds - which when added to the cost of other branded items can cost a family up to £100 per child.

Photos taken by fuming parents show staff milling around outside in cold temperatures in warm overcoats while some children are just in jumpers.

The next Covid variant could be ‘more severe’ than Omicron, Scotland’s National Clinical Director has warned.

Earlier this week, Nicola Sturgeon told MSPs there are signs of ‘encouragement’ in recent data as the new variant continues to spread across Scotland.

The First Minister said that new infection numbers have fallen in all age groups, apart from over 85s. She added that the situation in Scotland’s hospitals appears to be improving.

A Scots family have been left heartbroken after their 'friendly giant' dad suddenly died in his sleep.

Billy Muir, from Glasgow, went to bed feeling 'peaky' around January 7th and sadly never woke up.

The Rangers daft 54-year-old grandfather had taken a covid test shortly before which turned up negative last week.

Now his devastated family have been left in shock by his death and are paying tribute to the 'legend'.

Chance to see the Northern Lights in skies above Scotland this weekend - when to watch

The Northern Lights could make a showing this weekend, forecasters predict.

On Saturday, January 15, the out-of-this-world dancing lights could be visible above Scotland and the UK.

The celestial display might be visible as far south as the north of England, according to the Met Office Space Weather forecast.

Scots will be able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights due to increased activity from the sun.
