She begins with the bull fiddle that drove early rock’n’roll and provided the walking bass lines behind boogie woogie, and moves quickly on to Paul McCartney, Motown great James Jamerson, Carol Kaye, Bootsy Collins, Chic’s Bernard Edwards and Joy Division/New Order bassist Peter Hook.
