NCIS
9pm, Channel 5
A double header brings the current series to a close. The first episode sees DiNozzo dispatched to France on a special assignment. Ordered to engineer the safe return of Admiral Kendall’s wanderlustful daughter, events turn out to be more complicated than merely fighting through Marseille’s traffic at rush hour. The second episode covers the aftermath of a fire on a prison ship that freed terrorists with a grudge against Gibbs, an event that inconveniently coincides with a family crisis. Mark Gibbings-Jones
I’m Not In Love: The Story of 10cc
10pm, BBC4
“If someone had an idea, it got tried,” says the laconic Kevin Godley, neatly summing up the appeal of a band who apparently combined the innovativeness of the Fabs with the smarts of an XTC or Talking Heads, while boasting not one but two pairs of classic songwriting partnerships in Godley & Creme and Gouldman & Stewart. In this affectionate profile, all four recall how they unexpectedly hit big, before half the group waltzed off to invent the modern music video. Ali Catterall
An Island Parish: Falklands
10pm, BBC2
Island life continues at a gentle pace with the arrival of Governor Colin Roberts. His wife Camilla unpacks her homemade jam and settles in as Bonnie the spaniel provides this week’s cute animal moment, while Reverend Hines joins a group of Scouts on a trek up Mount Tumbledown as a tribute to those who died there in the Falklands war. Elsewhere, Lisa introduces some important members of the community, Willow, Ella and Molly, three of the few cows on the island who provide fresh milk. Hannah Verdier
Inside Cocaine Wars
10pm, National Geographic
The US’s war on drugs has been ongoing since the Nixon administration, but rarely have we been able to see what’s happening in the narcotic trenches. This programme aims to change that, and tonight’s episode follows Drug Enforcement Administration special agents to Colombia and the Caribbean, where they plan to apply federal justice to drug cartels with billion-dollar turnovers. Actions even include intercepting cocaine-packed submarines as they head towards international waters. MG-J
The Returned
10pm, More4
Season two of the singular Gallic chiller concludes. Some will recall their feelings when season one took its final bow; a brave or wildly unsatisfactory denouement, depending on your point of view. Whether you dare being hurt – or intrigued – all over again is your call, as Camille finally understands that she can no longer be with her loved ones and must rejoin the Returned. Meanwhile, though the Horde has dispersed, Lucy has doubts over whether they will now be able to return to where they came from. Ben Arnold
The Graham Norton Show
10.35pm, BBC1
Ever adept at attracting top-line talent, Graham welcomes Thor star Chris Hemsworth and director Ron Howard (Apollo 13) to his sofa. The duo plug cinematic epic In the Heart of the Sea, based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s account of the real-life whaling expedition that inspired Moby-Dick. Lily Tomlin, tipped for an Oscar for her role in Grandma, also guests, as does comedian Kevin Bridges. Blake and Dame Shirley Bassey, who have collaborated on a new Christmas single, provide the musical entertainment. Jonathan Wright
Artsnight – Ana Matronic
11pm, BBC2
Scissor Sister-in-chief Ana Matronic has been obsessed with robots for more than two decades, and has the Bionic Woman-inspired tattoos to prove it. In this personal “Artoo detour”, she imagines how our friends electric might express themselves creatively, with the help of sonic scree-wrangler Squarepusher, French artist Patrick Tresset – the inventor of some literally sketchy bots – and Neil Harbisson, a cyborg activist with an antenna embedded in his skull. She also goes behind the scenes with the droids of Star Wars. Graeme Virtue
Film choice
Taken 3 (Oliver Megaton, 2015) 4.15pm, 8pm, Sky Movies Premiere
Bryan Mills’s daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) could rival her namesake, Jack “24” Bauer’s girl, in the Dad-I’m-in-trouble-again stakes. Once more she’s the target of grizzled, tattooed heavies, and Mills (an understandably bored-looking Liam Neeson) has to protect her and terminate the villains while evading detective Forest Whitaker and most of the LAPD, who think he’s a murderer. Paul Howlett
A Beautiful Mind (Ron Howard, 2001) 9pm, Watch
Howard’s portrait of John Forbes Nash, the Nobel prize-winning mathematician with paranoid schizophrenia, turns a complex, conflicted soul into a standard Hollywood hero with charming chat-up lines (“Ritual requires that we proceed with a number of platonic activities before we can have sex”) and an occasional delusion thrown in to ratchet up the tension. It won four Oscars, but Russell Crowe didn’t get one, though the film relies heavily on his star-quality. PH
