Conspiracy: The Hollywood Files
8pm, Channel 5

In November 2014, Sony Pictures essentially imploded after a targeted cyber attack, with hundreds of emails containing the dirty details of Hollywood deal-making made irreversibly public. The megahack is widely considered to have been initiated by North Korea, upset at the portrayal of Kim Jong-un in Sony’s then-imminent comedy The Interview. But what if it was actually a promotional tactic that spiralled out of control? That wild theory, and others, are explored in this deliberately sensationalist doc. Graeme Virtue

8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown
9pm, Channel 4

This throwaway spin-off has quietly eaten its parent, the less likable 8 Out Of 10 Cats. It’s in the way Countdown and the comedy interact: once the scripted opening gags are over, the fact that Sean Lock et al are more or less playing properly satisfies viewers who want a panel game to contain an actual game, while the overlong runtime helps bring a loose, tipsy muckabout feel. Jack Seale

T In The Park
9pm, BBC3

Live coverage from day one of the music festival, from its new home at picturesque Strathallan Castle. Rudimental will be showcasing the high-energy brand of drum’n’bass that has rocketed them to fame in recent years, while Sam Smith is on hand with nan-friendly pop balladry. Scheduled to provide the first main-stage headline set of the weekend come 10pm are Leicester’s snarling indie icons Kasabian. Stylist-turned-presenter Angela Scanlon and Radio 1’s Clara Amfo host. Coverage continues tomorrow and Sunday. Hannah J Davies

Rock’n’Roll America
9pm, BBC4

One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready ... and BBC4 to provide the quality documentary. Tonight’s episode of this series about 1950s music maps rock’n’roll’s perceived relationship with juvenile delinquency and sexuality, along the way debunking myths about Elvis and his stage moves while spinning great tales about his manager Colonel Tom Parker. Also revealed: the racist agenda of the war on rock’n’roll, and the pointed anecdotes of songwriter Mike Stoller. John Robinson

Transporter: The Series 9pm, Spike

Prison Break star Chris Vance pulls on the driving gloves of rule-obsessed road warrior Frank Martin in this cheap but energetic movie spin-off. He’s not as bald or brooding as Jason Statham, but Vance seems just as confident, powersliding his Audi A8 around tight European corners, smacking down thugs with a meaty intensity or, in this opening episode, advising a female client on lingerie options. There is one direct link to the big-screen trilogy: François Berléand reprises his role as Frank’s wily frenemy Inspector Tarconi. GV

Frank Skinner: Man In A Suit
10.35pm, BBC1

Frank Skinner has made a long and lucrative career out of being all things to all people. He’s a sensitive aesthete in blokeish clothing, a 56-year-old who is still regarded as the epitome of a certain kind of laddism. Firstly, though, he’s an accomplished standup. In this 2014 show, he explores everything from celebrity perks to charity shops. Phil Harrison

Artsnight
11pm, BBC2

The glorious Lynn Barber takes the reins tonight as she delves into the world of artist Doug Aitken. He’s currently in residence at the Barbican for a month (to 26 July) in order to stage more than 100 “multi-arts” events, with scores of collaborators including Jeremy Deller and Martin Creed. Think hula-hooping brass bands and laser rooms. Julia Raeside
