The maths teacher is set to appear before the General Teaching Council for Scotland (UGC)

A Scots teacher accused of having ‘sexual relations’ with a sixth year pupil at the school where he taught faces being struck off.

Ross Spittal is set to appear before the General Teaching Council for Scotland following an alleged romantic relationship with the teenager in 2019.

The 31-year-old was employed as a maths teacher at Inveralmond Community High School in Livingston, West Lothian , at the time of the alleged affair.

Spittal, who lives in Bishopton, is also accused of kissing the girl during an Easter School session in April 2019.

The education watchdog claims the educator had sexual relations with the pupil on at least two occasions at his home.

Widowed mum ‘left with nothing’ after wax burner candle goes up in flames at Scots flat

A widowed mum-of-two has been "left with nothing" after an oil wax melt burner went up in flames at her Scots flat.

Pauline Limond was in the kitchen of her property on Dryburgh Avenue in Denny, near Falkirk , when the candle went on fire at around 2pm on Wednesday, November 10.

The 52-year-old cleaner had lit the burner in the living room after coming in from work and was hanging up washing when the smoke alarm started going off.

She raced into the room and saw huge flames raging up the walls at the side where the candle had been lit before her and her son 15-year-old son, Matthew Foster, ran outside without so much as their shoes on.

Brothers ripped apart by death of mum in desperate bid to find new home to stay together

Three brothers have been torn apart after their mum was found dead in their Glasgow home.

Melanie Rafferty, 50, was tragically discovered following a battle with mental health at their home in Knightswood on Thursday, November 4.

Liam and his two big brothers Owen, 21, and Daniel, 23, have been left heartbroken by the death of Melanie, who they have hailed as the "best mum ever".

The trio are too traumatised to return home and have been forced to be separated, with Liam and Owen living with their uncle in Motherwell, while Daniel is living with his gran in Glasgow .

Scots gran’s hilarious Steven Gerrard reaction goes viral over cardboard cut-out punch clip

A hilarious video shows a Scots grandmother reacting to a man punching a Steven Gerrard cardboard cutout - believing its actually the former Rangers boss.

Scott Hunter started filming his gran last night when he heard Mary shouting "oh my god Steven Gerrard has been punched".

Having already seen a video of a man filming himself punching the cardboard cutout and knowing this couldn't be true, the 27-year-old began filming.

Churchgoing Scots granny knocked child off bike while five times over drink-drive limit

A churchgoing granny driving while more than five times the drink limit, who knocked a four-year-old off his bike on a zebra crossing, has been spared jail.

Mary Savoy, 70, then drove off without stopping, and when followed and challenged appeared to not even know what had happened.

Falkirk Sheriff Court was told the incident happened on Abbots Road, Grangemouth , about 6.55pm on August 13th last year.
