Fresh update on Nottingham Forest 'target' Ben Gibson as Matty Cash transfer saga drags on

NO BORO RETURN FOR GIBSON?

Middlesbrough’s odds of signing former defender Ben Gibson look to be dwindling.

The 27-year-old is keen to leave Burnley this summer with Nottingham Forest one of the clubs reportedly keeping tabs on his situation, along with Norwich and the Teesside club.

Gibson, a £15m Turf Moor signing two years ago, spent the second half of last season on loan at the Riverside Stadium, and boss Neil Warnock is keen to see him return, with many expecting it to be a formality.

Aston Villa must be cautious with how they approach the transfer market, according to former England and Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Villa are understood to be closing on a deal to secure Matty Cash from Championship side Nottingham Forest, with the Reds wanting £15m for their Player of the Season.

DICKIE'S BIG INFLUENCE

Reported Nottingham Forest target Rob Dickie has signed for the Reds' Championship rivals QPR from Oxford United.

The 24-year-old centre-back, who was named player of the season for the the U’s, moves for an undisclosed fee and has put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Dickie had been linked with a move to the City Ground, but it is former Forest boss Mark Warburton who has won the race for his signature.
