Fresh update emerges about Nottingham Forest transfer 'target' involving Premier League club

There has been a fresh update in Nottingham Forest’s reported summer pursuit of striker Mbaye Diagne.

Reports in recent weeks have linked with Reds with a transfer for the Galatasaray forward, who is currently on loan at Club Brugge.

It has been reported that Sabri Lamouchi’s side are preparing an 8m euro offer for the striker, in a bid to strengthen their attacking options for the new campaign.

Fresh reports from Turkey claim that Galatasaray are keen to offload Diagne to Forest this summer, as they look to sign midfielder Mario Lemina on a permanent deal from Southampton.

Lemina is currently on loan at the Super Lig side, and Ajansspor claim Galatasaray want to sell Diagne for 10m euros, in order to fund an 16m euro transfer for the on-loan Saints midfielder.

Diagne is reportedly focused on returning to Galatasaray and resuming his career with the Turkish giants when his loan with Club Brugge comes to an end.

He was top scorer in Super Lig last season with 30 goals, and has netted four goals in six league matches on loan at Club Brugge and played in the Champions League.

It was in the Champions League earlier this season where Diagne was in the middle of a controversial incident at Club Brugge.

The striker missed a penalty in the Champions League group stage match against Paris Saint-Germain in November, and was later fined and dropped by manager Phillipe Clement, after he took the spot kick himself instead of designated taker Hans Vanaken.

That match in Paris was his last appearance in competitive first-team football.
