Fresh twist as club reportedly makes decision over Nottingham Forest 'target'

Reported Nottingham Forest transfer target Jack Clarke has had his loan spell at Leeds United cut short, according to reports.

The Reds are one of a number of clubs credited with an interest in the 19-year-old, who was due to spend the season on loan at Elland Road from Tottenham Hotspur.

Championship duo Fulham and Brentford are the latest clubs linked with a move for Clarke during the January window, while Derby County and Middlesbrough are two of the sides who have also previously been linked with Clarke.

Tottenham have a recall option in Clarke’s loan deal, and Football Insider claim that the clause has been activated and the young forward has returned to north London.

The report adds that Clarke returned to Spurs on Christmas Day, and will not be part of Leeds’ squad for the Boxing Day clash with Preston.

Clarke has only played three matches for Leeds this term, and has had to settle for a place among the substitutes for the majority of the season.

But the youngster was not part of the matchday squad for Leeds’ Championship fixture against Fulham last weekend.
