Pear has been famous for a long time.
Nattatida Damrongvisetpanit (Pear) became a star when she was just 7 years old. Her emotional performance as Tawaan in Channel 7’s 2002 drama Yod Rak Roi Lan (Dear Millionaire) won over audiences. She later put her acting career on hold to focus on her studies, eventually graduating with a degree in architecture.
After she’d graduated, Pear decided to take up an offer for an acting part. The 22-year-old naturally felt rusty and took time to readjust. But she has since appeared in several shows. And recently, she starred in her first movie, Memories of New Year: Kidthung Took Pee, playing a girl with a broken heart who gets left behind by her friends on a trip to Cambodia.

S Weekly recently met up with Pear who told us about acting and her new movie ahead of its release on December 28.
Did you have fun on set when you were young?
Pear: Yes. I knew that I was there to film something serious, but I just wanted to play around. Everybody was very kind to me.
You took a break from acting for eight years. Did you feel under a lot of pressure when you returned?
Pear: Yes, I found it difficult to get back into it. Everything had changed from when I was young - the techniques, the style and the standards. At first, I wasn’t open to new things. One director pushed me until I started crying. I considered giving up and working as an architect. But my family and manager told me to reconsider. So instead, I focused on improving as an actress.
Do you still find it easy to cry on set?
Pear: Not as much. When I was a child, my mother helped me out. She’d tell me that nobody loved me and that she would leave me behind, so I’d start crying. But that won’t work anymore. It takes time for me to cry. I have to understand the character and her situation.
How did you prepare to play Ning in Memories of New Year?
Pear: This is the third time that I’ve played this kind of character. They’re all broken-hearted and get drunk. You don’t need any special preparation.
Which location in Cambodia did you like best?
Pear: We filmed in a charming area around a post office building. There were a lot of beautiful old structures. And people were wearing traditional clothes which looked lovely.
