Fresh reports Arsenal to make key decision on Eddie Nketiah's time at Leeds United

The future of Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah at Leeds United remains the subject of strong speculation ahead of the January transfer window.

Nketiah moved to Leeds in the summer on a season-long loan after a battle with Bristol City for his signature.

He arrived with a huge reputation as the Gunners looked to aid his development ahead of breaking into the first-team.

The 20-year-old has scored five times for United but is yet to make his first league start with Patrick Bamford impressing Marcelo Bielsa in attack.

Recent reports had suggested that Arsenal were considering his future at Leeds and Football Insider now indicates Leeds are expecting the Gunners to activate their mid-season recall clause.

Today's report claims Leeds have already started looking for a suitable replacement in the January transfer window with Nketiah set to return to the Emirates Stadium on January 1.

Bristol City appear ready to swoop for the Gunners forward with Lee Johnson a big fan of the youngster who would be guaranteed more playing time at Ashton Gate.

Eddie Nketiah won't feature for Leeds at Reading on Tuesday night after he picked up a lower abdominal injury.

'For me, he is a complete player'

He is expected to be back training with his teammates 'next Thursday' but it also looks unlikely he will play in Saturday's fixture against Middlesbrough.

"Some players are involved a lot before creating chances," Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa said about the striker earlier this season.

"Nketiah is more involved at the end of the action but he has good characteristics to combine with his team-mates to give us these options.

"He is a striker who can score goals. For me, he is a complete player."
