Fresh Nottingham Forest transfer link emerges as defender has 'chance' of January exit

Boss Steve Cooper remains coy on what further business Nottingham Forest could do before the transfer window closes next week.

So far this month, the Reds have added striker Keinan Davis and defenders Steve Cook and Richie Laryea to a squad which is pushing for the play-off places.

And other players have headed in the opposite direction, with Lyle Taylor becoming the latest to depart when he joined Birmingham City on loan this week, while Joao Carvalho has been pictured in Greece ahead of a switch to Olympiacos.

Cooper is still hopeful of more signings in the final few days of January, though.

Potential exit

Nottingham Forest defender Tobias Figueiredo has been linked with a loan move in the final days of the January transfer window.

The centre-back has the “chance” of returning to his Portuguese homeland for the rest of the season, according to A Bola.

A switch to Vitoria is said to be a possibility, with an option for the deal to be made permanent in the summer, when Figueiredo’s Reds contract is set to run out.

Forest added Steve Cook to their central defensive options at the start of this month, with the former Bournemouth man joining Scott McKenna and the injured Joe Worrall as first-choice in a back three.

Staying put?

A January move for Nottingham Forest attacker Xande Silva looks to have fallen through.

The Portuguese was expected to return to Aris Thessaloniki - where he spent last season on loan - before the transfer window closes on Monday.

However, the word from contacts in Greece is that Aris’ transfer plans have since changed, and they have opted against completing the deal.

Money earmarked to spend on Silva is said to now be allocated for other business, ending the club’s pursuit of the Reds man.

Nottingham Forest are 'interested' in Manchester City youngster Morgan Rogers.

The 19-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow Championship side AFC Bournemouth.

He has made 15 appearances under manager Scott Parker, though only one of those was a start.

Bournemouth would lose their option to buy Rogers if his loan deal were to be voided this month.
