Fresh Nottingham Forest exit twist as Nicholas Ioannou transfer claim gathers steam

Nicholas Ioannou is reportedly in talks with Nottingham Forest over terminating his contract at the club in order to seal a move.

Greek outlet Sport FM say the left-back is looking to become a free agent in order to let him move to Aris FC, where former Red Yohan Benalouanne plays.

It is also claimed the 25-year-old has already spoken with Aris and a deal is close.

This is not the first report to say Iannou will move to Greece in the next few days.

According to Cypriot news outlet Goal, the former Manchester United defender is expected to leave the club to join Aris on loan with an option to buy if his spell is successful.

Ioannou only signed a three-year contract with the Reds in late September following a switch from APOEL where he had produced a string of stellar performances.

But he has not featured for Forest since being sent-off at Luton Town at the end of October, with Yuri Ribeiro having nailed down his place in the side.

Reports earlier this week claimed that Aris are big admirers of the Cypriot international as well as Reds striker Miguel Guerrero and are keen to add both players to the squad.

Goal also claim that Huddersfield are also keen on left-back Ioannou.

Should Forest allow him to leave or should they keep him?
