Fresh names linked with Bristol Rovers vacancy with former Leeds United boss now joint-favourite

We are now in the second day of Bristol Rovers' hunt for a new manager, and there have been some interesting changes in who the bookies think will take charge.

According to the Sack Race, there are three joint-favourites for the role, with Paul Heckingbottom, Ian Holloway and Tommy Widdrington all leading the way at the time of writing.

Yesterday, Bristol Live revealed that Heckingbottom was in contention for the role after the Gas had been turned down by former Stoke City boss Nathan Jones.

Holloway and Widdrington will need little introduction to Gas fans.

Rovers legend Holloway has not ruled himself out of the role, but says he 'wants to feel wanted' and is waiting for a call from the Gas.

Widdrington, meanwhile, is the club's head of recruitment and part of the selection panel to find a new Rovers boss - he has previous management experience with Salisbury City and Eastbourne Borough.

Forest Green Rovers boss Mark Cooper is fourth favourite for the vacancy, with Rovers' head of academy Chris Hargreaves fifth favourite.

Some big movers in the betting include Paul Tisdale, Ian Evatt, Pete Wild and Nigel Adkins, all of whom have slipped according to the odds.

Moving the other way is Ben Garner, whose price has been cut.

Garner was linked to the Rovers vacancy last year before being beaten to the role by Graham Coughlan.
