Fresh Links: the music breakfast of champions

· Icelandic dream-pop pioneers Mum have just announced a UK tour in December to support the release of forthcoming album Go Smear The Poison Ivy. Find dates and hear new tracks at their MySpace page.

· Motor-mouthed Manic Street Preacher Nicky Wire pours bile over V Festival headliners Snow Patrol, apparently claiming: "There is something unredeemingly, utterly shit about them." Pot calling the kettle? Find out here.

· V was not the only festival this weekend. Over in the Brecon Beacons, the Green Man celebrated its fifth year. Watch a vintage TV appearance from headliner Joanna Newsom.

· Has the rap star finally lost it? Rumours buzzing around the internet claim that 50 Cent has gone on a rampage in the New York G-Unit office, smashing a plasma TV and shouting obscenities. Read more here.

· Ace new Manchester band the Answering Machine have been selected to open for Dirty Pretty Things at Ibiza Rocks this week after a nationwide hunt by Artrocker magazine. Watch the video for their latest single, Silent Hotels.

· And finally, the Boss, Bruce Springsteen has announced that his new studio album, entitled Magic, will be released here on October 1. See him in action back in the 80s with this nugget.
