Victoria's corruption watchdog will hold a fresh hearing into allegations of secret kickbacks paid to contractors in the state's public transport system.
Metro Trains terminated its contract with Transclean in November 2020, after the first round of hearings revealed the company did not clean carriages properly during the city's first wave of coronavirus.
Transclean managing director George Haritos repeatedly denied all wrongdoing under questioning by counsel assisting the commission.
But the Independent Broad-based Anti-Corruption Commission's Operation Esperance hearings played damning tapped phone calls with Metro Trains manager Peter Bollas and V/Line chief James Pinder, who have since lost their jobs.
Counsel assisting the commission alleged Transclean made secret cash payments to both Mr Bollas and Mr Pinder.
IBAC will examine two witnesses at the new hearing to be held on Thursday, and will delve into matters that were previously off-limits due to claims of legal privilege.
IBAC says Operation Esperance is ongoing and it is encouraging anyone with information to report it to authorities.
