- “Pakistan is very happy that both Iran and the U.S. have expressed their confidence in Pakistan’s facilitation” of the talks, which will happen in the “coming days,” Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in a televised speech.
- He did not say whether the talks would be direct or indirect.
- It comes as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt discussed "possible ways to bring an early and permanent end to the war" in the Middle East on Sunday. The four nations held joint talks to seek a de-escalation in the US Iran war in Islamabad.
