A new-cross border competition is to be introduced next season which will see Welsh Premiership sides taking on Scottish teams.
The tournament will be scheduled for the end of the 2019-20 campaign and run through into June.
It will see six Premiership sides - probably the top six finishers in the new streamlined 12-team league - locking horns with six newly-created Scottish teams.
The Scottish Super Six are being set up with the aim of bridging the gap between the amateur and professional game north of the border.
Franchises have been awarded to Ayr, Boroughmuir, Heriot’s, Melrose, Stirling County and Watsonians.
These will be semi-pro sides, as is the case in the Welsh Premiership.

The plan is that each of the 12 teams in the new cross-border tournament - six Welsh and six Scottish - will play six matches, three home and three away.
Those fixtures will then be followed by a semi-final stage and a final in June 2020.
It’s part of an all new look to the season for Premiership clubs next term.
The league is being reduced from 16 clubs to 12, with the bottom four sides at the end of this season being relegated and the 12th-placed team facing Championship winners Pontypool in a play-off at a neutral venue.
There will be a later than usual start to the new Premiership campaign, which will get underway in mid-October.
Prior to that, there are likely to be a couple of rounds of WRU Cup matches, while a number of Premiership players will be involved in Regional A team rugby in September.
The Regional A sides will face Irish Provincial A teams in the Celtic Cup over a seven-week period at the start of the season.
At the end of that cross-border tournament, young players will either stay with the senior regional squads or go to play Premiership rugby.
