Fresh cases of coronavirus in Leeds as 17 people diagnosed across Yorkshire

There have been another two cases of coronavirus confirmed in Leeds.

It brings the total number of cases in the city since the pandemic began to 1,905.

In Yorkshire there were another 17 cases of Covid-19 recorded.

The biggest increase was seen in Barnsley which recorded another four cases. Bradford and Sheffield also confirmed another three cases of the virus each.

However, not everywhere recorded an increase. Doncaster, Hull, Rotherham, Wakefield and York did not record any new cases according to the most recent figures from the Department of Health.

It comes as hospitals in Yorkshire have had three more deaths from Covid-19.

Across England, a further 19 people have died after testing positive with the disease. This brings the total number of confirmed reported deaths of people with coronavirus in hospitals in England to 28,672.

Patients were aged between 60 and 96 years old and all patients had known underlying health conditions.

Confirmed cases of coronavirus in Yorkshire in the last 24 hours:

  • Barnsley - was 1,088 now 1,092
  • Bradford - was 1,452 now 1,455
  • Calderdale - was 303 now 305
  • Doncaster - still 950
  • East Riding of Yorkshire - was 965 now 966
  • Hull - still 802
  • Kirklees - was 801 now 802
  • Leeds - was 1,903 now 1,905
  • North Yorkshire - was 1,353 now 1,354
  • Rotherham - still 1,079
  • Sheffield - was 2,683 now 2,686
  • Wakefield - still 790
  • York - still 463
