Fresh appeal in hunt for Manic Street Preachers guitarist missing for 25 years

A new appeal has been made over missing Welsh rocker Richey Edwards – on the 25th anniversary of his disappearance.

The Manic Street Preachers guitarist and lyricist went missing, aged 27, on February 1, 1995.

He vanished from London’s Embassy Hotel on the day of the band’s promotional trip to the US.

His car was later found near the Severn Bridge, in Bristol, fuelling the belief that the musician – who had a history of self-harm, anorexia and alcoholism – had taken his own life.

His body has not been found, though he was legally declared dead in 2008.

Now, Missing Persons, the charity Richey’s sister Rachel works for, has called on him to get in touch.
