Detectives have made a fresh appeal for information following the death of a man in New Stevenston last weekend.
Police were called to Quarry Street around 5.05am on May 19, after Cameron McMillan was seriously injured during an altercation outside.
Emergency services attended however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old man has been arrested on connection with the death and appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, May 20.
A second man, aged 34, was also arrested in connection with an assault and appeared in the dock a day later.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Detective Inspector Cammy Miller, from Coatbridge CID, said: “Extensive enquiries are being carried out to gather as much information about what happened, with detectives examining CCTV and speaking to local residents.
“Despite the early hour, it was daylight and from CCTV we can see that there were a number of members of the public in the area walking dogs and going about their daily business.
"It is vital that these people come forward and speak to the police, regardless of whether they think they have information or not.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Quarry Street from around 4.30am to 5.15am, and heard or saw any sort of disturbance, to get in touch.”
