Who can enter?
You must be over 18 and run or work for a UK-registered company. The competition excludes employees of the Guardian and Observer or partners of the competition (UPS or UKTI), GNM’s or its partners’ group companies or their family members or anyone else connected to the competition. Each business selected as a finalist will be represented by one person on the trip.
My business is based abroad can I enter?
Unfortunately not. The competition is open to UK registered businesses only.
What is the definition of a small or medium-sized business for this competition?
Less than 250 employees and a turnover less that £50million
Will I have to contribute anything to the cost of the trip?
The costs of flights, accommodation, dinners hosted by The Guardian and UPS and entertainment will be covered. We would expect those attending to cover their insurance, and any expenses incurred outside our programme of events.
What if I am shortlisted but unavailable for the advertised dates?
When you enter, you confirm that you will be available to attend the judging day (15 January 2015) and the period over which the trip is expected to take place (week commencing 2 March 2015). The trip will last no longer than five days. If you are unable to travel during this time for any reason, the competition organisers reserve the right to replace you with a runner up and you will forfeit your position as a finalist.

We do ask that you provide us with one image of your product when entering.
When will I know if I’m successful?
If you have been shortlisted to attend the judging day we will contact you by 17 December 2014. Due to the volume of entries we are anticipating, we may not be able to inform those that have not made the shortlist. The final list of those companies traveling to Atlanta will be announced on 19 January 2015.
