Welcome to the United On My Mind daily round-up, where we take a look at some of the best Manchester United stories that you might have missed.
It's been a somewhat annoying few days for Manchester United supporters, as Tuesday's game against Brentford has been postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak. Still, it hasn't stopped the latest transfer rumours from floating around, as a person close to Frenkie de Jong has admitted United have a disadvantage in their pursuit of the Dutchman.
United have also been linked with a tricky winger, dubbed as the South American Cristiano Ronaldo. It'll be interesting to see whether the club will make a move.
Despite having a range of defenders at Old Trafford, United have been touted to make a move for a current Premier League player, who's out of contract at the end of the season.
Manchester United have Frenkie de Jong disadvantage
There are a lot of United supporters who feel Frenkie de Jong would be the perfect holding midfielder for United to sign, especially as Barcelona are going through financial difficulties.
So far, United have been tentatively linked with a move for De Jong, but nothing has fully materialised. However, that hasn't stopped his father from coming out and commenting on the links.
De Jong's father doesn't think he'll move because of the weather but has admitted there's been talks with five top European clubs.
He said to AD: "Bayern Munich or Manchester United? The weather is horrible there… I know Barcelona needs money and a big offer for Frenkie could help, but I don't see it happening. Though… The 5 top European clubs have all called."
My opinion: I would love to see United make a move for Frenkie de Jong, and I genuinely believe there's an opportunity to strike a deal with Barcelona. They need money, and De Jong is an excellent way to get that. If they continue to fall, I can't see him staying either.
United identify South American Cristiano Ronaldo
United always get linked to a host of players, and it looks like another name has cropped up. This time, it's a player from Porto.
Ralf Rangnick is reportedly interested in signing Porto winger Luis Diaz ahead of the January transfer window. United will have to compete with Premier League rivals Liverpool FC in the race to sign Diaz, reported Spanish media outlet Fichajes.

Portuguese outlet, Record, have also stated that United sent scouts to watch Porto's 1-0 win over Braga, which Diaz scored the winner in. He's been touted as the South American Cristiano Ronaldo.
Diaz has scored 11 times and assisted on three occasions in 14 Liga Bwin matches this season.
My opinion: I don't know much about Diaz, but from the sounds of it, he has all the attributes to go far, and when you're being compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, you must be good! I'm not sure it'll happen, but it's a move I'm here for.
Premier League defender linked with a move to Old Trafford
It feels like United don't need any more central defenders because they're pretty stacked in this area. However, that hasn't stopped reports linking us with a move, and Antonio Rudiger is the name being mentioned.
United have joined the race to sign Rudiger from Chelsea on a free transfer, says Sky Germany. The 28-year-old has less than 12 months left on his contract, with his deal running out next year.
Thomas Tuchel and the rest of the Chelsea team seem desperate for Rudiger to stay, seeing as he's become a crucial team member. However, it remains to be seen whether that will happen.
My opinion: I can't see Rudiger joining United. I feel it's pretty much inevitable he'll join Real Madrid if he does leave Chelsea. I think United's name has just been thrown into the mix for the sake of it. Let's see though.
