Chelsea fans were left comparing Kylian Mbappe with Timo Werner after the Frenchman’s disappointing showing for France.
Leading the line for Les Bleus, the Paris Saint-Germain forward did not have the best of nights as he spurned a number of glorious chances vs Switzerland which culminated in missing the decisive penalty.
It meant that the reigning world champions were eliminated at the last-16 stage of the competition despite being talked up as favourites to claim the trophy.
In all, it had been a hugely frustrating tournament for Mbappe having failed to find the net in any of the four games in which he started. Meanwhile, teammate Karim Benzema managed to score on four occasions - two of those coming in the 3-3 draw against the Swiss in Bucharest.
As a result, Chelsea supporters were left to analyse his performance, with the majority stating that Mbappe was suffering from the same inconsistency in front of goal as current Blues forward Werner.
They took to Twitter following the game to express their thoughts.
Whilst Mbappe’s tournament is over following defeat to the Swiss, Chelsea forward Werner still has the opportunity to reach the quarter-finals.
His Germany side take on England at Wembley Stadium today in what looks like a titanic clash which could potentially be decisive in the final destination of the trophy.
Werner is yet to get on the scoresheet himself having only made two substitute appearances at the tournament but will be looking to make an impact having scored 16 goals in 41 outings for his national side.
