- The formal investigation specifically concerns allegations of rape in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 2008, attempted rape in Brussels in 2010, and sexual assault and harassment in Perpignan and Ajaccio in 2019.
- As part of his release conditions, Mr Bruel is barred from leaving France, must surrender his passport, undergo psychological treatment, post bail of 500,000 euros, and is prohibited from contacting his accusers or entering massage parlours.
- The allegations came to public attention through media reports, notably by Mediapart, prompting additional complaints, and the judicial investigation continues into other similar allegations spanning 2010 to 2019 in various French cities and Switzerland.
