A student crashed his dad’s car on the way to an exam but managed to get there on time after the police gave him a lift.
The 18-year-old, named Loïc, missed the bus he was to take to travel to his baccalaureate final in France.
He took his father’s car instead but lost control at the wheel and hit a guardrail as he made the journey, according to officials.
Police from the Police Nationale du Tarn arrived at the scene in Albi, southern France, and checked the student who they found to be uninjured.
They breathalysed him and found he had not been drinking.
After he described his situation, the officers decided to rush him to school.
His exam began at 13.30pm and officers said he arrived at 1.28pm.
Posting about the incident on Facebook, the officers said the other students were "dumbfounded" and wished the student success.
The baccalaureate is a necessity for students to graduate from high school in France.
The police said it would have been “unfortunate” for the teen to miss it.
