French Snack Brand Taps Temu for Jolt of Growth

Some of the best ideas start with a simple spark. For Ludovic Rachou and his two best friends, that moment came during a trip, where they discovered a new way to deliver energy: through chewing gum. Inspired by the practicality and immediacy of the idea, they brought it back to France — and OneGum was born.

From day one, OneGum set itself apart: healthy and energizing, effective within just five minutes thanks to sublingual absorption — a sharp contrast to the 40-minute wait for coffee or energy drinks. The brand grew steadily, moving from highway petrol stations to locker-room supplies of Europe's top football clubs, including the French national team.

Yet as the brand expanded, new challenges surfaced: how to stay agile and connected in an increasingly crowded digital world.

"We always believed that moving fast and staying close to our consumers was key. But traditional online platforms were starting to slow us down," Ludovic said. "We needed something faster, more in sync with how we move — and that’s where Temu came in."

"We had a WhatsApp group set up right from the start," Ludovic said. "Whenever we had a question or needed help, someone answered. It made a huge difference compared to other platforms. Temu made us feel like a brand that mattered."

This direct support enabled OneGum to quickly adapt its usual X-piece packs for Temu’s consumer base — designing exclusive 8-piece packs that fit better with the platform’s pricing strategies while maintaining the same quality. Instead of struggling through slow, bureaucratic processes, OneGum was able to move fast, solve problems quickly, and focus on what matters: reaching new consumers.

Connecting with a New Generation of Consumers

Beyond operational speed, Temu helped OneGum address a deeper challenge: reaching a new generation of consumers who are value-driven and open-minded to try out new products.

"A lot of the buyers on Temu in France are frequent shoppers with decent spending power — exactly the kind of consumers that are hard to reach through classical online advertising," Ludovic said. "Through Temu, we can get direct access to them."

Unlike conventional marketplaces that often feel purely transactional, Temu’s shopping environment is built around discovery and engagement, offering brands like OneGum a more organic and natural path to visibility.

In a recent Ipsos survey commissioned by Temu, nearly 80% of French respondents praised the direct-from-factory platform for offering good value for money. The figure further confirms the opportunity for brands like OneGum to build lasting connections with value-driven consumers.

Scaling Smart with Temu

Although OneGum’s official store on Temu is just getting started, the partnership has already shaped how the team envisions its next phase of growth. With a lightweight, logistics-friendly product and growing demand beyond France, OneGum sees Temu as a key platform to scale across Europe.

"Our product is easy to ship — it is lightweight and durable. It is what I would call a logistics paradise," Ludovic said.

Temu’s broader strategy also aligns closely with OneGum’s ambitions. The platform expects 80% of its European sales will come from local merchants and local fulfillment, amid its efforts to further widen the merchandise selection and cut the fulfillment time, while supporting local businesses.

For OneGum, working with Temu is not just about opening a new sales channel — it is about building a long-term presence within a platform that matches their speed and spirit.

"I'd say Temu is easy and fast compared to other platforms. At Temu, we feel like we can move at the speed of energy itself, " Ludovic said. "And that's exactly where OneGum belongs."
