Speaking in Japanese, French national rugby players have expressed their support for the people affected by Typhoon No. 19 in a video posted on Twitter.
In the eight-second video put up Monday on the French rugby federation's account, about 50 players and staff members say in Japanese, "Everyone in Japan, the French team is with you. Let's do our best" on a playing field in Oita, where they are staying for their Sunday quarterfinal in the Rugby World Cup.
The video has been watched more than 350,000 times and there were many comments, such as "Thank you" and "You make me smile."
At a press conference on Wednesday, player Gregory Alldritt said that although one of the French team's matches was called off due to the typhoon, they thought first about the people affected by the typhoon when making the video.
