Emmanuel Macron has been slapped in the face by a man during a trip to southeast France.
In a video of the incident published online, the French president can be seen seen walking towards a crowd barrier where he is greeted by a man in a t-shirt shaking his hand.
The masked man held onto the President's right hand and delivered a slap across Macron's cheek before being pounced on by security staff.
As the president was slapped, the words "Down with Macron-ism" were heard..
The incident comes ahead of Macron attending G7 meeting of the world's leaders in Cornwall this weekend which has seen heightened security in the south west of England.
Two men have reportedly been arrested in the wake of the incident, according to French media.
