French Open 2025 - LIVE!

Jack Draper’s journey at the French Open has ended at the fourth round after losing out to Alexander Bublik. The Briton took the first set but was pegged back in the second, before Bublik went from strength to strength, saving a series of break points in the deciding set before holding his nerve to seal an impressive victory.

Bublik will now turn his attentions to the quarter-final and there is every chance he takes world number one Jannik Sinner. Meanwhile, Draper can take comfort from the fact he arrived in Paris having never won a match here but he is now one of the very best in the world.

Earlier in the afternoon, Cameron Norrie’s best-ever display at Roland Garros came to an end in the fourth round. Novak Djokovic, who beat Norrie in Geneva in the build-up to this tournament, did so again with a confident display, winning 6-2 6-3 6-2 in just over two hours. He will face Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals. Follow all the action from Roland Garros with Standard Sport’s LIVE blog below!

Draper saves a match point after returning a drop shot for once! Double fault gives Draper advantage and a chance to break. However, Bublik responds with an ace, back to deuce.

Bublik gets a taste of his own medicine as Draper brings up another break point with a drop shot, but once again Bublik gets it back to deuce. What a game!

Match point brought up again...

This time, Bublik takes! Really impressive display from Bublik!

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 5-4* Draper

18:19 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Big serve from Draper earns the first point but Bublik wins the second point with a terrific return. 15-15.

30-15, not this time Bublik as the drop shot does not come off. 40-15.

Draper wins this game, but Bublik will serve it out.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 *5-3 Draper

18:16 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Familiar pattern at the start of this game, Bublik drop shot and no response from Draper.

15-0 to 30-0 as Draper can't return Bublik's serve. Nice play from Draper to get it back to 30-15.

Rare error by Bublik brings it to 30-30 but he delivers an emphatic serve to leave him at game point which he picks up straight away.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 4-3* Draper

18:12 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Not the best of starts to the seventh game as Draper double faults to gift Bublik the first point. He does, however, recover to make it 30-15 despite Bublik's protests.

40-15 to 40-30 after Draper gets to Bublik's drop shot but there was no real option once he got to the net.

That does not matter as Draper holds!

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 *4-2 Draper

18:09 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Great return from Draper to win the first point of the sixth game, and then hits a winner up the line and he has an opening here at 0-30.

Fantastic serve from Bublik pulls it back to 15-30 and in a flash it's 30-30.

Excellent play from Bublik to win the next point with a stunning overhead slam, he wins a fourth point in a row to hold.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 3-2* Draper

18:04 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

A straightforward game from Draper there, Bublik goes for a drop shot at 0-40 and it gets him on the scoreboard.

Is the pressure getting to Draper here? He lets Bublik back in at 40-30 but he refocuses and earns the next point.

Important hold but he really needs to break Bublik next.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 *3-1 Draper

18:01 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Bublik gets away with one to win the first point of the fourth game, then Draper is unable to return a serve.

Glimmer of hope for Draper at 30-15, but that is quickly put out.

Draper is able to hang on and a mis-timed shot from Bublik brings it to deuce.

Oh wow! An unreal drop shot from Bublik and he holds!

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 *2-1 Draper

17:55 , Matt Verri

Draper bouncing up and down on the baseline, trying to get some energy going again.

But that’s got to be draining for him - drop shot return from Bublik and Draper doesn’t move.

Bublik goes again for the drop shot next point, this time nets it. 40-15. Make that 40-30, double fault.

A drop shot of his own for Draper and that’s a much-needed hold to keep him in it.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 2-0* Draper

17:52 , Matt Verri

Big serving, bigger hitting.

It’s a decent combination. Bublik throws a double fault in for fun but it’s otherwise high-level tennis right now.

A flat backhand brings up a swift hold to 15.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 1-0* Draper

17:51 , Matt Verri

Can Draper do anything differently? Can Bublik keep up this standard?

No and yes, apparently.

A returning masterclass from Bublik, who is seeing it like a beach ball at the moment.

Breaks to love, Draper looks absolutely stunned with what’s going on.

SET! Bublik 5-7 6-3 6-2 Draper

17:43 , Matt Verri

Ace from Bublik, and he then goes for a massive second serve. Double fault. 15-15.

Back to the trusted drop shot and it’s good, Draper stops and glares at the bouncing ball for a couple of seconds.

Bublik’s forehand lets him down there, low into the net.

But he brings up set point... which he takes! Bublik whips a forehand winner crosscourt and he’s a set away from victory.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 *5-2 Draper

17:39 , Matt Verri

Two huge returns from Bublik, both taken so early. Draper has no response to either. 30-30.

That helps, swinging ace gets Draper out of a bit of trouble in this game. And another one.

Ends a run of five straight games for Bublik.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 5-1* Draper

17:37 , Matt Verri

Draper runs down the drop shot and puts away the backhand down the line, better from him.

But Bublik is playing with so much confidence, and he throws the kitchen sink at a crosscourt forehand that flies past Draper.

Too good at the moment.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 *4-1 Draper

17:33 , Matt Verri

Draper looking very frustrated and his mood isn’t helped by a double fault. Or a forehand that is then slapped low into the net. 15-30.

Break point for Bublik now, as the forehand flies long from Draper.

Wow. A huuuuge double fault, that was miles long.

Double break for Bublik and Draper has his head in his hands at the changeover.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 3-1* Draper

17:29 , Matt Verri

No time to waste, over to Suzanne-Lenglen we go.

And Draper has problems. He’s been broken early in the third set, and Bublik has consolidated that with a battling hold.

Draper going to have to do this the hard way if he is to reach the quarter-finals.

GAME, SET AND MATCH! Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-6 Djokovic

17:22 , Matt Verri

Not so fast...

Djokovic sprays a couple of unforced errors and it’s 0-30.

Norrie then has a chance to make the pass and bring up break points, but Djokovic gets across to make the volley. 30-30.

Match point brought up, after a perfect second serve from Djokovic.

Which he takes at the first time of asking! Ruthless display from the Serbian.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 2-5* Djokovic

17:16 , Matt Verri

Can Norrie at least make Djokovic serve it out?

Still playing with plenty of energy, “come on” shout as he puts away a backhand.

And a fist pump as Djokovic tamely finds the net, that’s a rare hold for Norrie.

Djokovic will now serve for the match.

Bublik 5-7 6-3 Draper

17:14 , Matt Verri

Bublik levels it up against Draper!

Plenty expected that match to go long today and that looks to be the case.

Reminder that the winner is likely to face Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 *1-5 Djokovic

17:13 , Matt Verri

This is going to be over in a hurry.

A few swings of the Djokovic racket and it’s 40-0 within a minute.

Norrie puts away a forehand to extend the game, and then does enough with the crosscourt pass. 40-30.

Half-volley from Djokovic at the net is too good - he’s a game away.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 1-4* Djokovic

17:09 , Matt Verri

We’re starting to motor towards the finish line.

Djokovic jumps on a weak second serve, return slapped down the line. 0-30.

Wild swing of the forehand from Norrie flies long, another three break points for Djokovic.

He takes the second of them - Norrie’s race looks to be run.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 *1-3 Djokovic

17:06 , Matt Verri

That’s one of the best shots of the match.

Norrie pushes Djokovic back, it’s near enough on the half volley but he somehow whips a forehand down the line that drops a couple of inches inside the baseline. Ridiculously good.

First serve seals another routine hold for Djokovic.

Bublik 5-7 *4-2 Draper

17:03 , Matt Verri

And it’s not great news for British tennis fans over on Lenglen either.

Draper has been broken again in the second set and he now trails, with Bublik in a strong position to level that match up.

The Briton has only won 50% of points behind his first serve in the second set.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 1-2* Djokovic

17:01 , Matt Verri

Norrie makes a mess of the drop shot and Djokovic has all the time in the world to get there and make the pass. 0-30.

That’s a wild forehand - 0-40 and three break points. These feel near enough like match points.

Another unforced error and that’s a disastrous game from Norrie.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 *1-1 Djokovic

16:58 , Matt Verri

Djokovic has binned off the baseball cap but no issues with the serve at the moment. Races 40-0 up.

That’s a hold to love in no time at all, as Norrie goes long with the forehand.

Norrie 2-6 3-6 1-0* Djokovic

16:55 , Matt Verri

Djokovic well behind the baseline and he’s basically given up on the point as Norrie goes for the drop shot, but it’s into the net.

Good hold, though. Djokovic’s slice floats wide and Norrie then rushes up to the net to put away a backhand.

Opening hold in the third set.

Bublik 5-7 2-1* Draper

16:52 , Matt Verri

Early breaks exchanged in the second set.

Draper broke in the opening game of the set to seemingly take control, but he followed it with a poor game and Bublik responded immediately.

Back on serve.

SET! Norrie 2-6 3-6 Djokovic

16:49 , Matt Verri

Swinging serve out wide, opens up the court and Djokovic puts away the forehand. A couple of points away from a two-set lead.

But Djokovic then chucks in an unforced error, 30-30. Still has work to do.

Norrie’s return flies long, that’s set point. Saved by the Brit, catches the line with the backhand. Great shot. Deuce.

Two first serves later and Djokovic is two sets to go. Completely in control now.

SET! Bublik 5-7 Draper

16:44 , Matt Verri

Better news for the Brits elsewhere.

Draper needs only set point to get the job done and take the opener against Bublik.

One break point, one set point... ruthless.

Norrie 2-6 3-5* Djokovic

16:43 , Matt Verri

Good to go again on Chatrier. Djokovic will be keen to test out Norrie’s movement.

Two unforced error from Norrie and it’s 0-30... make that three unforced errors and 0-40. Djokovic has three break points.

Serve out wide, forehand down the line. Norris saves the first of them. Second seen off too, as Djokovic joins the unforced error party. 30-40.

Biiig first serve, deuce! Huge effort from Norrie.

SHOT! Djokovic curls a forehand winner down the line, round the post and it drops in perfectly. Break point again.

Norrie pulls the backhand wide and Djokovic does break. He’ll serve for the set.

Bublik 5-6* Draper

16:37 , Matt Verri

Perfect time to break!

Draper makes a brilliant backhand down the line at 30-30 and that proves key as the fifth seed moves in front for the first time.

The Briton will now serve for the opening set.

16:35 , Matt Verri

Norrie has been stretching out his left ankle a bit between points and he’s now called for some treatment.

Trainer is on twisting it around... I’ll assume there’s slightly more expertise to it than that.

Medical timeout taken.

Norrie 2-6 *3-4 Djokovic

16:32 , Matt Verri

Ticking towards ten minutes for this game alone.

A fourth game point for Djokovic... and it comes and goes in about a second and a half. Stunning return from Norrie down the line, deuce yet again.

Norrie goes early, Djokovic slams down an ace in the opposite direction.

At long last, Djokovic has his hold and he demands more noise from the crowd. Norrie on the run and can’t make the backhand.

Bublik 5-4* Draper

16:30 , Matt Verri

There hasn’t been a break point yet over on Lenglen.

Bublik has his nose in front again, Draper serving to stay in the first set.

54 points played so far - they’ve won 27 each. Tells you all you need to know.

Norrie 2-6 3-3* Djokovic

16:29 , Matt Verri

Frustration from Djokovic. He was adamant that ball had gone long, but it lands right on the line. 30-30 and it’s another tight game.

Break point Norrie! Great point, both exchanging crosscourt shots and Norrie’s backhand gets the job done.

But it’s wasted, Norrie gets himself into the point and then nets the backhand. Deuce.

And again... this is a long old game. Wonderful drop shot from Norrie to take it back to deuce.

Norrie 2-6 3-3* Djokovic

16:21 , Matt Verri

Norrie needs to stop the rot here, he’s lost three games in a row.

That helps him out. Norrie scrambling behind the baseline, does well to stay in the point and Djokovic then gets too cute with the drop shot. Doesn’t clear the net. 40-15.

Another drop shot battle - Djokovic wins this one. Norrie then nets a backhand, deuce.

“Allez” is the shout from Norrie, trying to win some favour among the crowd. And another one as the ace seals a battling hold.

Norrie 2-6 *2-3 Djokovic

16:13 , Matt Verri

Much more joy on the Djokovic serve in this set for Norrie. 30-30 and another chance to put some pressure on.

I clearly jinxed that. Ace out wide and Norrie barely moves. But Djokovic then hits a backhand low into the net, deuce.

Break point! So, so good from Norrie, reading the Djokovic smash and then making a brilliant backhand pass.

Djokovic saves that with an ace, and then gets another go at the overhead which this time he puts away.

Had to work for it but Djokovic holds.

Bublik *2-2 Draper

16:08 , Matt Verri

Over on Lenglen, Jack Draper has made a confident enough start.

It’s on serve in the early stages of that first set with Alexander Bublik.

Back have big, big serves... would be a surprise if there were many breaks in the match.

Norrie 2-6 2-2* Djokovic

16:04 , Matt Verri

Norrie has stress. Real stress.

Djokovic jumps all over a second serve to hammer a winner down the line, and he then strolls up to the net to win the next point. 0-40 and three break points.

Needs only one - a break to love in barely a minute.

Norrie 2-6 *2-1 Djokovic

16:01 , Matt Verri

Djokovic just starting to refocus again. Flat forehand crosscourt forces the error.

And again, this time Norrie scampering out wide and can’t get it back in play. 40-0.

Return from Norrie floats long and it’s a hold to love.

Norrie 2-6 2-0* Djokovic

15:58 , Matt Verri

It was an almighty struggle for Norrie to hold serve in the first set, but this is already looking much better.

Helps that Djokovic has dropped right off. Starts the game with a drop shot that barely makes the net, ends it with a poor forehand.

Norrie cruises to the hold.

Norrie 2-6 *1-0 Djokovic

15:54 , Matt Verri

Djokovic hammers a forehand into the net and there’s some immediate encouragement for Norrie at the start of this set. 0-30.

Even more so now - wild from Djokovic. Three break points!

An absolute gift of a game. Backhand misfires this time and Norrie has a break without really having to do anything.

SET! Norrie 2-6 Djokovic

15:48 , Matt Verri

Trouble...

Norrie sends a forehand sailing beyond the baseline and it’s 0-30.

Poor drop shot from Norrie, flicked into the net and it’s two set points for Djokovic.

One will do. Norrie can’t make the volley at the net and Djokovic is a set up.

Djokovic taped up

15:45 , Matt Verri

Djokovic getting some attention at the change of ends, his right foot is being taped up. He has been having blister issues.

Doesn’t look particularly comfortable but the socks are back on and it will be Norrie to serve to stay in this first set.

Jack Draper next up!

15:43 , Matt Verri

Over on Suzanne-Lenglen, Jack Draper and Alexander Bublik are expected on court in the next few minutes.

Madison Keys won in straight sets to keep things rattling only swiftly on Lenglen.

We’ll be bringing you updates from Draper’s match, don’t you worry.

Norrie *2-5 Djokovic

15:41 , Matt Verri

Djokovic whips a forehand back behind Norrie, who gave up on that the second it left the Serbian’s racket.

But Djokovic falls off balance there as he slaps a backhand into the net, 30-30. Big point coming up.

Too good, serve and volley gets Djokovic out of that potential trouble. Nothing Norrie could do.

Norrie loops a forehand wide, that’s the hold. Djokovic a game away from the set.

Norrie 2-4* Djokovic

15:37 , Matt Verri

That will massively frustrate Djokovic. He gets to 15-30, but then sends his return long... eases the pressure on Norrie.

So does that, big ace out wide. “Come on” shout from Norrie, as he looks to hold for the first time in this match.

And he does, Djokovic putting too much on the big forehand down the line.

Norrie *1-4 Djokovic

15:32 , Matt Verri

Norrie realising he has to go for the lines, with Djokovic getting the better of the baseline exchanges, but that’s bringing the mistakes. 30-0.

Yet another drop shot, but Norrie runs this one down and makes the pass.

Djokovic turns to it again, this one is even worse... but Norrie doesn’t put away the forehand. Djokovic gets away with it, 40-15.

Ace to seal the hold. So far, so good for Djokovic.

Norrie 1-3* Djokovic

15:28 , Matt Verri

Norrie covers every inch of the court, scrambling to stay in the point. Djokovic doesn’t really do enough with the smash, Norrie nearly pulls off a stunning winner from well above his head... just long. 15-30.

The Brit then pulls a forehand wide, two break points for Djokovic. Been a struggle on serve for Norrie so far.

And he’s broken again, drop shot from Djokovic again forces the issue.

Norrie *1-2 Djokovic

15:23 , Matt Verri

Djokovic glares at the court, ball might just have skidded off the line and kept lower than he was expecting. 15-30 and half an opening for Norrie.

The Brit is forced into a mistake, though, as Djokovic flattens out the forehand and lands it right on the baseline.

But here’s a break point! Djokovic had a relatively routine backhand to put away, but sends it long.

Saved - Norrie had a couple of chances to win that point but Djokovic rock solid as ever. Norrie basically stopped mid-point thinking a ball was out, but right on the line. Drop shot gets Djokovic back to deuce.

Break point number two coming up, good flat hitting from Norrie this time.

Taken! Djokovic nets the backhand and we’re back on serve.

Norrie 0-2* Djokovic

15:17 , Matt Verri

24-shot rally to begin with on Norrie’s serve, before Djokovic’s drop shot then proves too good.

Early problems at 0-30 for the Brit, but he does well to get it back to 40-30... only to then send a tame forehand long.

Break point Djokovic now, warning signs are flashing.

And there is the break, as Norrie’s forehand misfires again.

Norrie *0-1 Djokovic

15:10 , Matt Verri

Djokovic wasting little time in breezing through this opening game. 40-0 up and the serve is firing immediately.

First unforced error as the backhand flies wide, gets Norrie up and running at least.

And now Norrie has a bit more interest, double fault and 40-30.

But the first serve returns and it’s an opening hold.

Play!

15:07 , Matt Verri

Djokovic to serve first. Settle in.

Here we go!

15:04 , Matt Verri

Novak Djokovic and Cam Norrie are out onto the court.

Much of Norrie’s game is about being hard to beat, staying in matches and grinding things out.

Feel like he’ll need to be a bit more aggressive here, can’t be waiting for Djokovic to beat himself.

Dembele in attendance

15:01 , Matt Verri

Ousmane Dembele has been out on Chatrier, soaking up the applause.

Norrie eyeing quarter-final return

14:53 , Matt Verri

Cameron Norrie has only previously made the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam once.

That came in 2022 at Wimbledon, when he reached the last-four and was beaten by... Novak Djokovic.

Next up...

14:46 , Matt Verri

They’ve had to wait a while, but Cam Norrie and Novak Djokovic will be out on court in the next few minutes.

Norrie has already taken out Daniil Medvedev and fellow Brit Jacob Fearnley, but this is certainly his toughest test of the tournament so far.

Novak Djokovic hasn’t dropped a set yet.

Game, set and match!

14:39 , Matt Verri

She’s done it!

Lois Boisson has beaten Jessica Pegula, that’s a massive result.

Having never previously played in the main draw of a Grand Slam, the 22-year-old is now in the quarter-finals.

Elsewhere...

14:34 , Matt Verri

That’s turning into a bit of a mammoth game.

Over on Suzanne-Lenglen, Madison Keys has won the first set, well on her way to victory.

Jack Draper going to be on at near enough the same time as Cam Norrie vs Novak Djokovic at this rate...

Big shock on the cards?

14:25 , Matt Verri

Lois Boisson is serving for the match against third seed Jessica Pegula!

The Frenchwoman came from a set down to force a decider and now she is just a few points away from a shock win.

Norrie and Djokovic to follow that match...

Sinner and Draper practicing together less

14:10 , Matt Verri

If Jack Draper wins later this afternoon, there’s every chance he faces Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

The world number, who is a close friend of Draper’s, takes on Andrey Rublev in his own fourth-round match.

Sinner revealed he and Draper have had to start keeping their distance during tournaments, now they are both regularly competing at the business end.

"I'm very happy to have him as a friend, but now he's there, things are a little bit different," Sinner said.

"Of course we are very good friends off the court, but we practice a little bit less together because we might know that we can face each other in the later stages of tournaments. Hopefully, because I always love to play against him."

Djokovic finds confidence again

13:53 , Matt Verri

It has been a largely frustrating season for Novak Djokovic, leading to him splitting with coach Andy Murray.

But he opted to play in Geneva the week before the French Open, won that tournament and has seemingly carried the form into Paris.

It’s all worked out nicely!

Bublik: I'm not sure how to beat 'insane' Draper

13:44 , Matt Verri

How do you stop Jack Draper in his current form?

Alexander Bublik, his opponent this afternoon, admitted he isn’t particularly sure himself.

"Jack for me is insane. I mean, last year the guy is 40 in the world. This year he is top five in the world," said Bublik.

"That's a crazy achievement. He doesn't seem to stop, so I mean, what do I have to do to beat him? I don't know.

"I will just go there, enjoy the time, show what I'm capable of showing, and we all know what I'm capable of doing on court and then we see how it goes.

"This is the approach I have now, and Jack is a great sportsman, great person."

(Getty Images)

Settle in!

13:34 , Matt Verri

Lois Boisson has taken the second set against Jessica Pegula!

The home favourite has forced a decider, so Norrie and Djokovic have a bit longer to wait yet.

Madison Keys and Hailey Baptiste won’t be on Lenglen until 1:45pm BST at the earlier, so it’s unlikely Jack Draper and Alexander Bublik will be in action much before 4pm.

Djokovic looks to keep run going

13:20 , Matt Verri

Novak Djokovic is on a remarkable run at the French Open.

He has reached at least the quarter-finals at Roland Garros every year since 2009 - 15 straight last-eight appearances since then.

If he beats Norrie this afternoon, that run will be extended by another year.

(AP)

Schedule update

13:08 , Matt Verri

Tallon Griekspoor has just retired against Alexander Zverev, which changes things a bit in terms of the order of play.

Madison Keys and Hailey Baptiste next up on Suzanne-Lenglen, with Jack Draper and Alexander Bublik to follow that.

Over on Chatrier, Jessica Pegula has taken the first set and it’s 3-3 in the second.

Might not be much longer for Cam Norrie and Novak Djokovic to wait.

Standard Sport prediction

12:56 , Matt Verri

It looks to be a tough ask for Cameron Norrie.

He has been much-improved over the past week but he has never beaten Novak Djokovic, who has found a welcome return to form.

We’re going for Djokovic to win in straight sets.

Could be better news for Jack Draper though, even if it is difficult to know what to expect from Alexander Bublik at time.

Draper has looked strong in Paris - he can get the job done in four sets.

12:39 , Matt Verri

What about Jack Draper?

12:27 , Matt Verri

Jack Draper vs Alexander Bublik scheduled as the fourth and final match on Suzanne-Lenglen.

Depending on the length of matches before then, it’s likely to get underway at approximately 5pm BST.

What time is Norrie vs Djokovic?

12:14 , Matt Verri

Cameron Norrie vs Novak Djokovic to be third on Philippe-Chatrier, following on from matches involving Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula.

Gauff has won her match, and it’s still early in the first set for Pegula and Lois Boisson.

Norrie and Djokovic are therefore likely to take to the court at around 2pm BST.

Good afternoon!

12:00 , Matt Verri
