Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the French Open!
Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Johanna Konta all in action at Roland Garros today, in what is expected to be a fascinating day’s play.
Nadal, an 11-time winner here, dropped just six games against Yannick Hanfmann in the first round, while Federer - making his first appearance in this tournament since 2015 - eased past Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets.
It’s German opposition up next for both, with Nadal facing Yannick Maden on Suzanne-Lenglen, while Federer takes on Oscar Otte Philippe-Chatrier.
Johanna Konta is in the second round for the first time after ending her French Open hoodoo on Monday, and the Brit is up against the American Lauren Davis on Court One.
Stay tuned to Standard Sport of updates…
