And that is, I suppose, us. Enjoy your day, and see you tomorrow!
Nothing else for it, really. Do they deliver?

I do rather like the formulation here: “due to weather”. Dew two whether what?
Due to weather, there will be no matches played at #RG16 today. For more information, including refunds, visit: https://t.co/bMTYsmSzcO

Looking on the bright side, at some point this week or next - hopefully tomorrow - there is going to be an absolute monster of a day.
PLAY IS ABANDONED FOR THE DAY! HISTORY IS MADE!
Well, since the last time history was made. The official Ronald Garros site informs me that this is the first total washout since 30th May 2000.

The official Roland Garros Twitter feed has gone ominously quiet.

Oh dear x Infinity = Today. No play before 12.30 BST, and there’s an 85% chance of rain thereafter. It’s beginning to look like a washout, I’m sad to say.

According to our pal Accuweather, we may soon be moving from “rain” to “showers”. If so, we may have the prospect of tennis to tantalise us.
It’s incredible to think that Novak Djokovic still hasn’t won the French Open. But he hasn’t, and here’s why.
The question, though, is whether Wawrinka could play like this again. If he made it to the final, he’d certainly try - he’s never outlasting Djokovic, and no one on tour can unfurl quite the same array of winners. But he may never play quite that well as long as he lives.
Ok, at least some have some hope, even if it does foul up our meal arrangements. In the meantime, it’s still raining.

That Chang serve is my personal favourite - what a chance Edberg missed that year. It’s almost surprising that no one has thought to copy his tactic, element of surprise and all that. Same a spin bowler tossing one up - sometimes things are too easy.
Nostalgia.
It’s official.

We’re now beyond our first appointed “no play before x” and it is, I’m afraid, still raining.
Redressing the cosmic balance for the purposes of karma, some misery:

A visual representation of said rotten news, sponsored by Accuweather - or put another way, no way this tournament finishes this week. Still, some better news at the bottom, as least.

Email distilled: rotten news.
Email! “Thanks for the attempt at French, always good to see someone putting himself out there,” says Theo Biddulph. “Waiting for one of the 1057 pedants to come over from The Fiver and point out a mistake. ‘It’s raining a lot a lot, to go to the station, where in any case is the instruction (or “deposit”, depending on what you want to say)‘. What were you trying to say?
I very much doubt they’ll play, the weather here in Paris is absolutely horrendous, proven by my soaking wet boxers from this morning’s bicycle ride to work... Have fun.”
Heh, I was trying to say nothing beyond a succession of GCSE French sayings. In particular, I refer you to page 175 of Tricolore, where one could find a list of idiomatic terms; incidentally and now that you ask, je fais la speleologie.
And as for the rest of it, as Mia Wallace once said:

And, lest you forget, we also have Test cricket in progress - follow that with Tim de Lisle, here.

Except, il pleut beaucoup beaucoup, pour aller à la gare s’il vous plaît, où est la consigne de toute façon. Which means, I’m afraid, that we have no le tennis until 12.00pm local time, 11.00 BST, at the very earliest. Le bah!
