French Green MEP Eva Joly on fighting tax avoidance, climate change and more

Eva Joly has spent the best part of three decades fighting for causes from environmental protection to cracking down on financial corruption. She's been a presidential candidate in France after having made a name for herself as an investigating magistrate who brought some of the biggest international graft cases to trial. This year, she is coming to the end of her second and final term as a Green MEP and is now working as a lawyer in Paris. She spoke to FRANCE 24's Luke Brown.

Joly told us what the EU has achieved on fighting tax avoidance, protecting whistleblowers and battling climate change.

On tax avoidance, she accused EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Commissioner Pierre Moscovici of having "left the issue at stake, counting on the future Commission to carry [on the work]."

She also shared her thoughts on Brexit.

Produced by Isabelle Romero and Roxane Runel.
