French football experts make exciting Malang Sarr prediction after Chelsea transfer

Chelsea have had a busy transfer window so far.

The Blues confirmed their fourth signing of the summer on Thursday with more expected to come in the coming days.

The latest capture is French defender Malang Sarr, who signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge after the expiry of his contract at Ligue 1 club Nice.

The 21-year-old will spend the 2020/21 season on loan, although where that will be is still unclear.

Upon his return, the defender will look to break into the first team at the club, and if predictions are anything to go by then he will do just that.

Twitter account Get French Football News provides information and news from the French game, and their opinion on Chelsea’s signing of Sarr certainly makes for exciting reading.

“Malang Sarr an exceptional signing for Chelsea - a victim of Vieira's regime & Dante, who hurt gifted leader Sarr's confidence by playing him at left-back & robbing him of crucial progression at left CB,” they wrote.

“Has the potential to become France's best left-sided central defender.

“Cannot express how much we believe in Malang Sarr & how valuable it is to have over 100 professional appearances by the age of 21 in a division like Ligue 1 - 2 years of setbacks yes, but if he seizes these opportunities, he will be stronger for injustices he was served.”

Should that prediction come through then Sarr will reach and even surpass the levels shown by the likes of Aymeric Laporte and Dayot Upamecano.

Sarr joins Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell as new arrivals at Stamford Bridge this season and although Chelsea fans may have to wait a bit longer to see him flourish in a Chelsea shirt, it may well be worth the wait.
