A French bulldog has given birth to an incredible 13 puppies, equalling what the owner believes to be a world record.
Laura, from Glasgow, was expecting her beloved family dog Roxy to produce what vets predicted to be a minimum of four cute pups - or an absolute maximum of six, but they just kept on coming!
Glasgow Live are happy to report trouper Roxy and the 'lucky' 13 are all happy and healthy, and aside from the initial shock and a few sleepless nights, Laura and her young - and now much extended -family are doing well too.
The proud owner told us: "I was told we'd have four plus puppies - I didn't expect this!
"They just kept coming. It got to eight and I thought 'right, that's her', but nope, she had another five.
"People say 13 is unlucky - not for me."
And four-year-old mum Roxy is in good company - her 13 children aside - with Laura telling us the dog who set the world record for French Bulldog puppies shares the same name.
"It's a world record. Only one other dog has done it and she was called Roxy too!".
And while Roxy may steal the limelight, Laura was keen to ensure the father, Henri, gets some recognition too, adding: "He's one of the top stud dogs in Scotland".
Although Laura admits she and her family 'want to keep them all', she understandably feels 14 dogs may be a little too much to handle, and so the majority of the 13 may soon be looking for loving homes.
She said of the litter, who Laura's young son Frankie wants to give out 'Christmas names': "I’m only used to 6 puppies, but we are coping well, lots of sleepless nights!
"I’m looking for forever pet homes for them might keep one or two".
Congratulations to world-record equalling Roxy and the 'lucky' 13 - we're sure these cute little guys will find loving owners in no time!
