French architects Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal on winning 2021 Pritzker Prize

ENCORE! © FRANCE 24

With sustainable, low-impact homes and public buildings that put the inhabitant at the heart of design and construction, Jean-Philippe Vassal and Anne Lacaton have built their careers on a resourceful and respectful approach to the built environment. Fresh from winning an award often dubbed the "Nobel of architecture", the French couple join us in the studio to talk about their zero demolition philosophy and why frugality is a natural ecological response to the problems we face today.

We also discuss their refurbishment and revitalisation of the Bois le Prêtre social housing project, as part of an urban regeneration scheme in Paris.
