French actor Pierre Deny of Emily in Paris fame dies aged 69

  • French actor Pierre Deny, known for his roles in the Netflix series Emily in Paris and the soap opera 'Tomorrow is Ours', has died at the age of 69.
  • His daughters announced on Wednesday that Deny passed away on Monday after a sudden and severe case of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a progressive neurodegenerative disease for which there is no known cure.
  • In 'Emily in Paris', Deny portrayed Louis de Léon, the CEO of fashion giant JVMA and father to Nicholas de Léon, appearing in seasons three and four of the hit show.
  • He also had a significant role as Renaud Dumaze in more than 500 episodes of the French soap opera 'Tomorrow is Ours' between 2017 and 2023.
  • Luce Mouchel, Deny's co-star from 'Tomorrow is Ours', shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, reminiscing about their seven years of working together and his 'sparkling eyes'.
