TV viewers who use Freeview are expected to face disruption to their broadcasts over the next few days. The company has warned users that a bout of bad weather is set to disrupt its service.
The TVs in millions of homes could face disruption due to a band of high pressure hovering over the UK. High pressure such as this can disrupt the signals being used to beam content to televisions, according to The Mirror.
In an update, Freeview said: "Freeview viewers across parts of the country could see some disruption to their TV reception between Wednesday, June 7 and Sunday, June 11. This is due to high pressure which could disrupt the TV signals which Freeview uses."
The disruption is expected to last until the end of the week. However, Freeview users are being advised not to try and tinker with their telly's settings to fix the problem.
“You are advised not to retune your TV during this time - reception will be restored once the high pressure passes,” Freeview added.
Those wishing to watch their favourite shows during the disruption may still be able to if their TV has Freeview Play. The service uses the internet to stream on-demand content, meaning it will not be affected by the bad weather.
Most modern smart TVs have Freeview Play as one of the built-in apps. If your TV doesn't have it, the Freeview app is available to download on mobile and tablet devices.
