A North East hospital has been included in a new edition of popular card game Top Trumps.
The Freeman Hospital, in Newcastle, is among the NHS sites to be featured in the Hospitals Top Trumps.
The pack highlights fascinating facts about 30 sites from across the UK, from Britain’s oldest hospitals to one of its newest - the Nightingale in London.
St Thomas’ Hospital, where Boris Johnson was successfully treated for Covid-19, is also on one of the cards.
The four scoring categories are - 'year opened’, ‘number of beds’, ‘fame’ and ‘rainbow rating’.
Highest in the ‘rainbow rating’ section is Great Ormond Street Hospital, which has a rainbow theme throughout.
The Freeman Hospital card informs players that the building opened in 1977 and has 800 beds. It is given a 'fame' rating of one and a 'rainbow' rating of seven.
The citation reads: "Freeman Hospital is based in the city centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It's named after Patrick Freeman, a farmer who tilled the land the hospital now occupies with his son in the first half of the 19th Century."
The new edition of the game is helping to raise money for the NHS.
Top Trumps Britain at its Best: Hospitals is available for £5 at winningmoves.co.uk and comes in a twin deck - the other pack features key workers who have been helping in the fight against coronavirus.
The £5 price for both packs includes postage and packaging and the Top Trumps makers say £1.50 from each dual deck sold go to the NHS.
