Freed Chelsea Manning faces jail again over Wikileaks and Assange

Former US army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, who leaked secret military files to Wikileaks, has been released from her latest jail sentence.

Manning, 31, spent 62 days behind bars in Virginia on contempt charges for refusing to testify to a grand jury investigating Wikileaks and its founder Julian Assange, now jailed for skipping bail after he was thrown out of the Ecuador embassy in London last month.

Manning could be sent back to jail after being given a new subpoena demanding her testimony, as the US seeks to extradite Assange.

Her lawyers say she will again refuse because she had already given evidence during her 2013 trial.

Manning, pictured below, served seven years in a military prison over the leak of 700,000 documents before President Obama commuted the remainder of her 35-year sentence for espionage.
