'Freed' Britney Spears wants to get married and have a baby within a year

Britney Spears plans to get married and have another baby within a year, one of her closest pals has revealed.

Former make-up artist Billy Brasfield says the singer – who had a No1 hit with Baby One More Time – can finally move forward with her life after a California judge formally terminated her 13-year-long conservatorship.

That set-up meant dad Jamie and a team of lawyers oversaw her personal and financial affairs – leaving Britney, 39, unable to make decisions for herself.

These included the right to manage her money, wed or even remove a contraceptive device she was allegedly “forced to wear so I don’t have more children”.

The mum of two teenage boys and her fiancé Sam Asghari, 27, have fought the conservatorship throughout their relationship.

Billy told the Sunday People : “Getting married and having a family is something they will absolutely do. And for them it won’t be a moment too soon.

“If they want to wed tomorrow and have a baby in nine months it won’t be a rush. They have been together five years.

“They’ve been through so much together and survived the worst – things most people can’t even imagine. Now Britney has what she wants and can move forward. Everything is there.

“Her life is about to start and she doesn’t have to answer to anyone.”

Billy, who grew close to Britney after first working with her on The X Factor in 2012, said the judge’s ruling was a “gigantic emotional relief and turning point for her”.

Britney was placed under the conservatorship in 2008 after a series of mental breakdowns.

She was not in the Los Angeles courtroom on Friday to hear it had been overturned but tweeted: “I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day. Best day ever. #FreedBritney.”

Her attorney told the court that those involved in managing her life had not acted in her best interests and that the arrangement had caused her mental torture.

Billy said he does not believe the rift between Britney and her father is ever likely to heal.
