Pre-season friendlies always bring up some interesting results, and it is no different this season.
Tonight (Tuesday), a Crystal Palace XI, featuring Connor Wickham, Alexander Sorloth and Jairo Riedewald took on National League side Barnet, with the Bees coming out at 6-2 victors over their Premier League rivals.
Palace were leading by 2-0 on the 40 minute mark, but the National League side pulled two goals back before half-time to go in level.
It is fair to say that the second half was somewhat of a collapse for the Eagles, as they went onto concede a further four goals.
The full time result sparked a lot of reaction on social media, from both Palace fans and fans of other clubs, including Arsenal.
The Gunners are on the trail of winger Wilfried Zaha, who has just returned from featuring in the African Cup of Nations for Ivory Coast, where his country lost out to finalists Algeria on penalties in the quarter final of the competition.
Unai Emery made an opening bid of £40m for the Palace man, which was quickly rejected, with the Eagles said to want at least double that price.
It is still to be seen if Zaha remains on the list of targets for the Gunners this season, but supporters were quick to jump on Palace's latest pre-season result to remind the player and the club of Emery's desire to take him to the Emirates Stadium during the summer transfer window.
