Free travel on offer for Nottingham residents getting Covid-19 vaccination

Free transport is being provided in Nottingham for residents heading to get their Covid-19 vaccine.

Nottingham City Council is providing free travel to concessionary card holders.

Residents just need to present their appointment letter with their card when boarding.

The King’s Meadow Campus vaccination site off Lenton Lane has also been added to the Medilink route to give people more ways to get to their jabs.

A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said: "To help people get to their Covid-19 vaccine appointments as safely and easily as possible, we're providing free travel to concessionary card holders before 9.30am.

"We've worked with bus and tram operators to extend the existing free travel - which already applies from 9.30am until 11pm - to help people make early appointments.

"This applies to both Nottingham and Nottinghamshire concessionary card holders making an essential journey to receive their vaccine. Just present your appointment letter with your card when boarding.

"We’ve also added the King’s Meadow vaccination site to the Medilink route to give people more ways to get to their jabs.

"Remember - we all still need to stay home, stay safe, and avoid unnecessary journeys wherever possible – but travelling for your vaccination is essential travel, and don’t forget you must wear a face covering when on public transport."
