Free-scoring Bishopton Ladies seal SWF League Cup final spot after beating Linlithgow Rose

On-form Bishopton Ladies fired themselves into their first ever national final.

The flying undefeated side, who have scored an incredible 112 goals in 14 games so far this season, took on Linlithgow Rose on their home turf aiming to book themselves a spot in the SWF League Cup final.

After a cagey opening 45 minutes, Bishopton made the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time when Naomi Clark-Granger flicked the ball on to Caitlin Greaves who duly smashed home the opener.

Julie Melrose calmly slotted home from close range after the break to secure the win, with Rose grabbing what proved to only be a late consolation goal.

The win puts Bishopton on the brink of cup glory, with the final against Bayside at an as yet unnamed venue on Sunday, November 21.

The club are also very much still in with a serious chance of winning their league, as a win over Queen of the South this Sunday would see them go clear at the top with two games in hand on their nearest challengers.
