Parking charges at all council bays are to be scrapped for another two months.
Fees were set to be back in force across all Renfrewshire Council car parks from Tuesday.
But councillors have now stalled the return of charges until Halloween at the earliest.

And it is not clear whether the fees - at up to £5.50 a day in Paisley - will return directly after that.
Councillors on the Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board took the decision to axe the re-introduction from August 31.
Stephen Burns, who represents Paisley Southwest, said: “I am sure the residents of Johnstone, the villages and Paisley will be delighted, as well as the local businesses.”

Renfrewshire Council has now confirmed all 18 council owned parking areas will remain free.
But a spokesman said fees for on-street parking will remain in place, as they have done.
And traffic wardens will still book cars on double yellow lines.
PAISLEY DAILY EXPRESS: Live news as it happens
Renfrewshire Council axed fees 17 months ago as Scotland entered lockdown.
It was designed to support key workers and charges were suspended until the end of August.
A report to the Board said: “Members will recall that there is a car parking working group set up between the Council, Paisley First, Shopping Centre Owners and public transport providers.
“The group has not met during the pandemic with car parking charges being suspended to support the response.
“The car parking working group plan to meet at the end of August /early September to discuss parking in the town centre.
“It is proposed that parking charges in council owned car parks will remain suspended until the end of October to allow the car parking group to meet and to further assess where Renfrewshire and Scotland is with its pandemic response heading into the winter time.”
