Good lyrics are the key to making a song connect with an audience. Great lyrics will even drive a song’s melody and tone. During this free Masterclass, you’ll learn about the art and craft of lyric-writing from award-winning Squeeze lyricist Chris Difford.
Chris has written and contributed lyrics for artists including Elton John and Bryan Ferry, while the ‘kitchen sink drama’ of the songs he wrote with Squeeze has inspired Lily Allen and Mark Ronson, among others. Whether you’re a music lover or a musician, this evening class will show you how the best lyrics are true to the writer and imbued with an emotional heart.
This unique event takes place on the evening of Tuesday 21 June at the Guardian offices in King’s Cross, London. It’s the fifth in a series curated by Menabrea, where the brand invites masters of a craft to share their skills and experiences with a small audience over drinks and aperitivo.
All tickets are free of charge and will be allocated on a lottery basis. Sign up below by midday, Tuesday 14 June, to be in with a chance of winning a place
