Free entry to Dumbarton's Denny Tank this week

Dumbarton’s Denny Tank will open its doors to National Lottery players for free this week, as the popular maritime museum thanks players for their support.

The Castle Street venue will join hundreds of participating lottery-funded visitor attractions across the country in opening its doors for free for the National Lottery’s Open Week.

Taking part is simple. Visitors simply book a timed ticket for a visit between now and Sunday on the museum’s website using the discount code LOTT100.

On arrival, they then present a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard at the museum and enjoy a glimpse into Dumbarton’s rich shipbuilding past.

David Mann, director of the Scottish Maritime Museum, said: “It is only through the support of funders like the National Lottery that we can continue to develop the Scottish Maritime Museum in new and exciting ways.

“The Heritage Lottery Fund’s Collecting Cultures programme, for example, was pivotal in the establishment of our nationally significant art collection.”

The museum is open Monday to Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
