Free Easter egg trail for families at Ayrshire park throughout April

Ayrshire families can take part in a free Easter egg trail today.

The special activity for kids of all ages is running for more than three weeks at the Dean Castle and Country Park until Sunday, April 18.

No booking is necessary and it all takes place outdoors at the Kilmarnock park.

To take part, families have to try and find the 10 wooden eggs with a distinctive Spring or Easter picture.

And the first letter of each picture spells the name of a very special woodland bird who is especially busy during spring.

Once you have an answer, you can make your way to the kiosk for a FREE chocolate treat.

Successful participants yesterday got the choice of a chocolate Freddo, a Malteser bunny or an orange-flavoured Malteser bunny.

Participants can also get 10 per cent off additional food and drinks at the counter with ice creams, cakes, crisps and hot and cold drinks on offer.
